Here is an overview of the issue:
---------------------------------------------------------------------
        Key: GUI-38
Summary: create xml search from query operators
       Type: New Feature

     Status: Open
   Priority: Minor

    Project: gui

   Assignee: Felix Berger
   Reporter: Zlatin Balevsky

    Created: Sun, 19 Jun 2005 8:27 PM
    Updated: Sun, 19 Jun 2005 8:27 PM

Description:
Search operators are being actively popularized by google and people are starting to use them more and more. It would be relatively trivial to allow users who type faster than they move the mouse to use operators. For example

"title:not great speeches type:audio artist:Bush"

This will also allow copy-pasting of exact search terms, and eventually embedding xml searches in magnets.
