Hi Robert, Ideally, we'd like the JIRA messages to flow seamlessly with other mailing list traffic. That is, what we would previously have discussed on this list as a bug that needs fixing, we'll now discuss on JIRA and have the messages sent here. You can also assign yourself as a 'watcher' to any bugs you've taken a particular interest in, and those bugs will be sent to your personal email account instead of the list account. I agree that process-tracking messages can become 'spammy' -- but we'd like to keep the conversations within JIRA (so we have the history for each issue), and we're also trying to keep the community informed of what's going on.
