Re: Polish translation

Your polish translation is unusable,because you have mixed the character encodings when editing this file!
Look at what we have received:

GENERAL_OK_BUTTON_TIP=Zatwierdzenie bie??cej czynno?ci i zamknij okna
GENERAL_CANCEL_BUTTON_TIP=Anuluj czynnoÅ>Ä?

This means that the second line was containing characters that were initially correctly encoded in UTF-8 but altered when you saved it, so a part of the last character had one code lost and transformed into "?";
The first line was edited using some other single-byte encoding using characters that were lost when saving and all replaced by"?".

Be careful to first check that you can download the existing translation and save it into a local text file, and then you can edit it and see all characterscorrectly displayed in your editor; then save it with your editor: it should preserve the UTF-8 encoding, so try to reopen it with the editor andcheck that no characters are lost.
If characters are missing or garbaged, your editor is not compatible and severely alters the UTF-8 encoding when saving (this happens if you use Wordpad in Windows 95/98, but does not happen when you use Notepad which correctly supports the UTF-8 encoding).

So the next time you send translations to the list, make sure that you can open the text file before attaching it. It is also important that your email agent doesnot transform the text file attachment, by assuming it is encoded with ISO-8859-1 (which it is not! the Polish language is NOT compatible with this encoding).

Make this test: send an email containing your file to your own email address, and try opening the attachment when you receive it: you'll see what happens to what you are sending. If your email agent makes such invalid transforms when attaching a plain-text UTF-8 file, then your email agent is not compatible with Polish and Unicode; consider attaching files by first compressing them into ZIP files, so that the agent attaches it correctly as a binary file (whose encoding will not be incorrectly transformed) and not as a plain text file (that your email agent incorrectly reencodes by assuming a different character encoding).
