It is  not used because the  implementation is awfully ugly.  It is not 
really a native  gopher support, it is a hack  to output something that 
might be interpretable by a gopher client.                              

An icecast  without the  ugly xsl  files, without the  http and  just a 
small easy to toggle module for  icecast streaming clients would be the 
best solution.                                                          

Maybe somewhen, sometime at bitreich someone will implement this.
