It seems that the OverbiteWX proxy add-on for Firefox mangles short URLs
presented in a gophermap file. I discovered this while updating links for
my IF Archive mirror at gopher://gopher.661.org/1/if-archive/. Everything
https://ifdb.tads.org now redirects to https://ifdb.org/.

This works:
hIFDB entry	URL:https://ifdb.tads.org/viewgame?id=s592isejad6u8mk5

But not this:
hIFDB entry	URL:https://ifdb.org/viewgame?id=rf9tvr2cjqxbwdav

Instead what gets passed to Firefox is this:
https://ifdb.org/viewgame%3fid%3drf9tvr2cjqxbwdav
                          ^^^ ^^^
