Same as it has been since 1993 - if there is any TLS involved, it simply 
is not gopher anymore.

"Modern" kids have been building some alternative gopher-like protocols 
with TLS and what not since some time now. It's a fine situation I 
think: let them have fun, without breaking the one true thing.
