Suse Linux 10.0 is my first experience with Linux (except for practicing with Knoppix before installing Suse). I have installed Guarddog and set it up successfully on my linux machine on a two computer home network. I tested the linux box firewall by disabling the router firewall and then running the various online firewall tests and it has passed them. I've gone back and enabled the router firewall for redundant protection. The system itself is basic. Wireless router hard wired to an XP machine. The other machine is the linux box with PCI wireless adapter. Due to the fact that the linux box is a dual boot system with Win98SE I am stuck with WEP encryption to avoid having to go into the router setup and change the encryption from WPA to WEP because of Win98SE limitation. I feel WEP is minimal at best for a basic two computer home network but that is my setup. Q: Does the initial setup for /etc/rc.firewall include rules that are associated with anti-spoofing? What should I look for in /etc/rc.firewall and so forth? ------------------------------------------------------- SF.Net email is sponsored by: Tame your development challenges with Apache's Geronimo App Server.
