Ports

Therefore Guarddog/Guidedog is a god send for me. THANKS!!!!!!!

NFS has been working fine for awhile. Then all of a sudden this weekend it started playing up I had a look with ethereal and found that the port numbers had changed. I went to my favourite site "LinuxQuestions.org" and did a NFS search and the bottom line is that NFS stinks because the ports it uses is random.


QUESTION: Do you foresee any problems opening all ports between LAN and LOCAL, ( note: excluding INTERNET)? I have 3 machines One with Guarddog connected via dial-up and satellite to the 'net then 2 others connected to a hub, needless to say that I do all my "work" on machine number 2 like surfing the 'net, rebooting into XP when needed, reading mail from number two that number one has received etc. 

All worked fine without the hub/switch which is actualy called a Dlink 8 port switch using a cross-over cable. I installed the switch about 3 weeks ago, the problem has cropped up only now.
