Thanks for your input ... here goes ... I think the right position for such logs is /var/log/messages, check that ....... tail -f /var/log/messages tail -f /var/log/syslog with log blocked/rejected packets ticked - priority 'emergency'. Firewall on, wengo wont connect properly, I get call time but no audio / video & zip in either log :( Interestingly if I bring the firewall down, link, bring it up the video call continues AOK - just cant disconnect it until I bring firewall down again. Seems to be a problem in the controll signals? Actually blocking http port & trying to browse (it fails naturally) also gives me zip - maybe a dapper sys logger config issue ? ..... Couple of ideas. I don't know what wengo is ..... 'wengo' or 'wengophone' - think of skype but opensource & open standards - with video etc http://openwengo.com/ ..... but a google on wengo + ports is showing additional ports, whether it's relevant, I don't know: "Wengo requires you to forward the 5060,10600-10601.." ..... I have enabled and forwarded ports 5060 & 10600 - 10602. Still Zip ..... Starting an application with strace will sometimes show something about ports being accessed in the terminal. strace wengo ..... wow that generates a lot of output :) ... I keep getting a repeated error "WARNING** Error sending rtp packet: operation not permitted" No port number - does this mean anything to you guys ? Cheers Dave Ahh rtp - SIP Real-time Transport Protocol, ... mmmm .... still no idea how to forward it :) ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Take Surveys.
