Using GuardDog with DansGuardian?

Ok, I'm pretty new to this but have made some progress.  The
documentation for GuardDog seems reasonable clear and I was able to
get it working with my router and the "Shields Up" website gave me a
clean bill of health.

Now, I'm trying to get the whole thing working with DansGuardian.  So,
I've installed "TinyProxy" (which I'm going to change to Squid as I've
discovered that TinyProxy won't allow DansGuardian to support an
exceptionuserlist).

If I set the browsers to use the proxy (8080), then DansGuardian works
just fine.

So now, all the remains is to transparantly route everything through
this proxy so that DansGuardian cannot be bypassed.


It's not clear to me from the directions how I would do that.  Do I
need a custom protocol that sets the connection between Local and LAN
to port 8080 only?

How exactly do I do that?.....or, if I'm on the wrong track, what do I do?


My set up is as follows:  A single computer connected by Cat5 cable to
my router box running Kubuntu 6.10.

Another laptop also connects wirelessly to the router, but I don't
care about that one, this is the "family" computer and I want it
secure and content filtered (at least for the kids).

So....I'm almost there, can anybody help me get "over the hump"?
