Possible answer...use GuideDog?

Ok, after some more research, it appears that GuideDog will provide the 
funtionality I'm looking for.  From the "FORWARDING" tab, just send everything 
going to TCP 80 to port 8080.

Two questions:

1)  Can somebody who knows what there doing confirm?

2)  Can said person point me to a good tutorial on iptables, firewalls, etc. so 
I can know what I'm doing to?  A good reference/tutorial that I can grab from 
Amazon would be nice.
