Maybe you could ask in the Suse contributor/developer community to make
an rpm. Mandriva has a binary rpm and a source rpm you might rebuild
for 2.5:
http://distrib-coffee.ipsl.jussieu.fr/pub/linux/MandrivaLinux/official/2007.1/i586/media/contrib/release/guarddog-2.5.0-1mdk.i586.rpm
ftp://ftp.ciril.fr/pub/linux/mandrakelinux/official/2007.1/SRPMS/contrib/release/guarddog-2.5.0-1mdk.src.rpm
but you could run into dependency/start-up script problems.
Probably, the best bet is to rebuild from the tarball.
