That's wrong. You must controll with Guarddog Yours Laptop! All port
must be closed and only what You need should be enabled. This is
strongly recommended.

Also You should enable Hardware Firewall of Yours Router, this is
better. Only You should tune twice the Ports, that is not a  big Problem
and give You the double Security. That's great.

You should use Asureus the last Version 2.5.0.4 or 3.0.1.6. Previosly
Version have Problems with Memory.

I use Azureus_2.5.0.4_linux-x86_64.tar.bz2 because I have AMD 64 CPU.

Which Java You use?

Do You mean in Local and Internet Zone

/File Transfer/ BitTorrent Peer -> Port 6881-6889
/File Transfer/ BitTorrent Tracker -> Port 6969

If You use higher Ports for Peer (I use between 49152 and 65535) You
don't need to enable 6881-6889. The Guarddog should not enable Ports
that is't needed.

You could try to use a higher Port for

Tracker (was 6969)
DHT Scrapper (was 6685) too.
