I left the settings of my firewall as those described in the thread "Boot time script" and went over with Konqueror to Gibson Research Corporation and head towards the "Shields Up!" area according to the tip from the Guarddog Handbook. When I clicked "ShieldsUp!" in the section "Hot Spots" a page was showed up with two ares of text titled "Please take just a moment to read and consider these three points" and "Your Internet connection has no Reverse DNS" and each area was followed by the button "Proceed". Only one of them I could press - I pressed the latter. I saw the popup window titled "Network Transmission - Konqueror" with the text: Warning: This is a secure form but it is attempting to send your data back unencrypted. A third party may be able to intercept and view this information. Are you sure you wish to continue? followed by two buttons "Send Unencrypted" and "Cancel". The latter do nothing so I had to press "Send Unencrypted". Immediately afterwards I saw the next popup window titled "Security Information - Konqueror" with the text: You are about to leave secure mode. Transmissions will no longer be encrypted. This means that a third party could observe your data in transit. followed by two buttons "Continue Loading" and "Cancel". The latter do nothing so I had to press "Continue Loading". And finally I arrived at the result message: Greetings! Without your knowledge or explicit permission, the Windows networking technology which connects your computer to the Internet may be offering some or all of your computer's data to the entire world at this very moment! Now it is only left to remind the subject of this message: "What is wrong with my firewall?" :-( -- Best regards, Yurij ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Microsoft Defy all challenges.
