Sounds like you are accessing an email account while not logged onto the provider. Most ISPs will not allow you to post through their email server unless you are logged onto them. Its to stop spammers.

You can, however, download mail from a remote server provided the logon and passwords are okay.

Your email wasn't delivered. Hamster sent it to the email server you specified, so it was removed, but that server bounced it back to you without forwarding it. At least thats what should have happened
