Hi I'm new - help required with script

Hi everyone, I'm new here.
First of everything I wish u all an happy new year to you and your 
families.

About my "problem"... well, I need a script to automate download in 
this way:

lets suppose that I've 3 news servers which they're sometimes busy 
and I want to download every new article from 1 newsgroup (ie: 
alt.free.newsservers)

Since those servers are busy i need a script that makes a loop and 
check if server is not busy start with HamNewsPull, else wait X 
minutes.

I'm not on dialup (just router), so i dont need to check if i'm 
online.

I dont even know if its possible: i read some faqs but english ones 
are few and doesnt explain at all (german ones are much detailed but 
well... deutch is not my language ^^;)
