Okay firstly thank you for your reply.

The initial problem was one of translation. I was under the impression the 
'ADMIN' account was a newsgroup not a email account as such. So I was 
sending mail via hamster to 127.0.0.1 expecting it to turn up in X-News.
    	It wasn't until I set-up Hamster to retrieve my isp email and the 3 
msg's I'd sent previously were returned to me that I figured it out.

Now in relation to getting local mails routed to a local newsgroup, I have 
set up a local-ng in Hamster named (internal.mail) and I've added a section 
to the MailFilt.hst file called [LocalNgs] with the line 
'postto(internal.mail)' but I'm stumped on the filter to use to get the 
mail sent there. Would something like To: "user@hamster" work ?? If not 
then what could I use ??

At this stage I use hamster locally on my machine only but I'm planning a 
network of 3 pc's at home in the future and want to be able to send mail 
without going online. The local mail to ng group is going to be a 
'important announcments' kind of group. IE: news and mail will be offline 
saturday for a system upgrade etc..... You get the picture.
