This is mostly true.  Yes, the initial release is dead.  I won't be 
distributing or supporting it, and don't have time to answer questions 
about it or figure out why it's not working.  There were a bunch of 
bugs in it, that I can't fix now, because of the licensing problems.  
Sorry about that, but that's just how it goes.

The wrong part in the above statement is about how tightly the new 
version will integrate with iTunes.  The new version will do everything 
the old version did (minus all the bugs of course :), and look almost 
exactly the same.  The difference will be mostly internal, in the 
mechanism it uses to integrate with iTunes.  And, everyone will be able 
to see that it doesn't use any Apple proprietary interfaces because 
you'll be able to get the source.  I've decided against using the GPL, 
and will use the Wide Open License instead, which gives you about as 
much freedom as you could hope for.

Thanks everyone for being patient.  The new version is almost a 
complete rewrite, and it's taking a little time.  But don't worry, 
it'll happen.  It's coming along nicely, and getting closer each day.  
Again, I apologize for not being able to get back to everyone that's 
mailed.  It's just too much for me to handle, and I've decided to focus 
on getting the new version out.
