Summary: Restore from taskbar blanks core window

Initial Comment:
When restoring Ayttm from a minimized state in the
taskbar, the main Ayttm window doesn't redraw a) the
menu bar, b) the image control [or whatever that big
white sunken control with all the account details is],
c) the status bar and d) the vertical scroll bar. I
will provide a screenshot if that helps.

Occurrence: 100%

It may be worth mentioning that I'm running Blackbox
for Windows as my shell, but I don't think BB4Win's
BBSystemBar plugin would affect Ayttm like this. No
problems with any other app AFAIK, anyway.

Thought I'd submitted this one before but maybe I only
daydreamed it.

Ayttm v0.4.6-17, Windows 2000 SP4

Hi plasmoidia,

Where can I get 0.4.6-24? I'm using 0.4.6-17 atm. The
download page only shows build 17.

BB4Win [Blackbox for Windows] is a shell replacement. You
can read about it at
http://wiki.bb4win.org/index.php?pagename=Main.BB4Win ,
which is a page on a wiki I set up for them. :) There's
links to more info there, if interested.

I haven't compiled it myself. Might be worth a try, but I'm
not really familiar with GTK [yet!]. Happens every time I
minimise and restore, yes. I can either alt-tab to restore
or click on the taskbar task, makes no difference there.

Hi Fatman,
I haven't had any problems with this with WinXP Pro (Ayttm
0.4.6-24). What is Blackbox for Windows? You are saying
that if you minimize Ayttm and then restore it, the main
window does not redraw (as shown in your screenshot)? I
can minimize and restore with no problems. Have you
installed from an install package, or compiled from source?

Hi anonymous.

I doubt it's a dialog hanging because it happens every time
I restore from the taskbar. Sometimes I have trouble
connecting to AIM, MSN or ICQ, but in that case there is an
extra window showing a sort of "waiting" bar, so I can tell
when that happens. Either that or it shows me a GTK message
box saying "Could not connect to XXX network." No problems
there, apart possibly from the reliability of the AIM, MSN
and ICQ plugins. I know they constantly change their
protocols so it's hard to keep up.

Besides, I can tell the window is active and not waiting for
a dialog to terminate. The workaround is to maximise and
restore the window.

I'm sure it's something related to the processing of the
WM_SIZE message, perhaps when wParam == SIZE_RESTORED.

Non standard installation? I'm using the Windows version if
that's what you mean. :)

I'll attach a screenshot anyway, what the hell.

Hello,

I can not reproduce. However, this has happened in the past
and is specifically related to the AYTTM program hung
somewhere, where I do not know. If you are using a non-
standard installation this could be the cause. This is a bug
actually, but one that is nearly impossible to track down. Find
out what is happening. Perhaps there is a dialog hanging out
somewhere.
