Re: AOL connectivity working?

i see the same problem sometimes.  the way that i've found to solve it is
to cancel and try to reconnect.  when that happens, it's b/c that address
you listed seems dead (try telnetting to port 80 on that addr, it won't
respond).  if you reconnect, you get another server in the rotation (i
think there are 8 systems that they round robin that respond to requests
to toc.oscar.aol.com).  if you keep getting stuck and getting the broken
one (i've seen sometimes the dns roundrobining returns the same 1 first
each time for a long period, like it's stuck or something), try opening up
ayttm prefs, going to the AIM service thing, and just putting one of the
other IP addresses in, in place of toc.oscar.aol.com.  the 205.x.x.x ones
usually work best when i've tried them.
