hi,

sorry for the late reply. but, i have been using webcam with yahoo
without any problems and here is how i do it (being a dummy myself, may
be luck has more to do with it :)).

1. jasper (patched; the patch is on the ayttm site) should be installed.
2. the program webcam, which is part of xawtv, should also be installed.
3. see that you have an appropriate .webcamrc file in your home
directory. mine goes like this:

       fg_green = 255
       fg_blue = 255
       width = 180
       height = 148
       delay = 1
       wait = 0

       left = 0
       bottom = -1
       right = -1
       quality = 75
       trigger = 0
       once = 0

[ftp]
       user = subash
       dir  = pix/images
       file = webcam.jpeg
       tmp  = uploading.jpeg
       passive = 1
       debug = 0
       auto = 0
       local = 1
       ssh = 0

4. in my system the webcam is /dev/video1; change it accordingly if it
is different on your system (i have a tv card which gets assigned
/dev/video0). run webcam from the command line and check if the
webcam.jpeg is being updated in the directory specified by you
(/home/subash/pix/images in my case).

5. ayttm should automatically detect jasper and build webcam support.

6. launch ayttm, go to Edit-Preferences-Filters-Img2JPC and check the
"send JPEG2000 Images".

7. while online, right click on your online contact, go to "yahoo
options" and click on "invite to view webcam".
