AOL (AIM) accounts still working?

Yesterday, at work, my AOL (AIM) connection appeared to go away. Today I checked the same thing at home, and it does not appear there either More details: My account shows up in Contacts and Accounts but not in Online. When others show up I see them in Online but not myself. Is this something I've done to AIM did AOL change something in their protocol?
