Category: Yahoo Group: None >Status: Closed >Resolution: Invalid Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: ed_bracam (ed_bracam) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: Cannot display my webcam (don't start) Initial Comment: Hi, I'm a new member of sourceforge At home, I installed last official version of Ayttm (0.4.6-17) from this site. The installation on my Mandravista 2005 edition (2.6.11 kernel version) was ok. The messaging system run perfectly with the Windows Yahoo messenger version but I have a problem with my webcam: - I can view the webcam of my girl friend but when I try to start my webcam, the webcam window is empty (no picture!) I don't have error message and my Labtec Webcam Pro is not started (webcam LED stopped) I seen that the webcam is normally started with the Ayttm program The "webcamrc" in my home folder exists but it contain a call to /usr/bin/webcam and I don't havethis program in my computer. My webcam work fine with gnome meeting (H323 support) and work with Gyach but my Windows Yahoo messenger see only a gray window. Can you help me to do working my webcam on Ayttm Thanks Seb... Ps: xawtv and jasper are installed on my PC ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Philip S Tellis (bluesmoon) Date: 2006-12-26 02:55 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=341836 Originator: NO You need to have either /usr/bin/webcam or an equivalent program (ie, something that takes snapshots from your webcam, and can either save them as a file or write the image contents to a stream. If you look at /usr/local/bin/ayttm_streamer_wrapper.sh, that's exactly what your program needs to do. You can use anything that accomplishes this. Secondly, you need to enable JPEG2000 images. This is in the preferences screen under Filters | Img2JPC. If you fix both of these, webcams should work. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=550744&aid=1190211&group_id=77614 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Take Surveys.
