Initial Comment:
NLS and Jasper filter give compiling problems

configure options  --disable-nls 
--disable-jasper-filter make compilation possible

kernel 2.2.14
egcs-2.91.66
glibc-2.1.3

when compiling
without  --disable-nls
prefs_window.C:493: braced-group within expression
allowed only inside a function

this is coming from intl.h, through the _( macro.
Problem disappears if I --disable-nls in configure 

without --disable-jasper-filter:
img2jpc.c:14: jasper/jasper.h: No such file or directory

The bug report is out of date and the submitter has not reverted to
queries posted. Most likely, he does not have the prerequisite development
libraries (libjasper-devel) installed.

Please reopen if you are able to reproduce this problem.

Hi,

You probably do not have gettext and libjasper development files installed
for ayttm to compile with support for nls and jasper. Please confirm so
that I may close this report.

I have no clue why this happens for you.  I can't reproduce it on any of
the boxes that I have access to.
