Summary: GUI problems

Initial Comment:
Two problems:

1) The more annoying one.  Often, if I have a chat
window already open and I get a new message, the chat
window goes blank and the new tab doesn't show up. 
This is a problem, since I don't see the new person's
first message to me.  Also happens sometimes when I
open a new chat with a second person with one open.

2) Less annoying, but still dumb.  Sometimes when I
have the main window minimized or behind another window
and I bring it back up to the front, the entire box
where the contacts should be is blank.  When I click in
it, I can see each contact I click on, but it's still
annoying.

I'd upload a screenshot, but I can't get it to do it
when I try ;-).

Does this problem still occur? 
Much has happened since this submission; especially a GUI port to gtk2,
which I think may have solved this problem.

Please also send me your prefs file. I noticed some of this as 
well, and when 'Chat completion' or spell checking is enabled 
it will spin out of control as well.

I get problem #2 myself. Ayttm fails to redraw when I've had
it minimised for some time and then try to restore the
window. I haven't noticed any abnormal CPU behaviour.

Workaround: maximise and then restore.
<p>
ps. How about a "minimise to tray" function? I can send you
the code if necessary. Wrong place for suggestions I know
but it seemed "on-topic". :P

I just checked the CPU usage when the main window froze up,
it was at 92.7%.  Definetely something wrong with that I
think.  A program like AYTTM shouldn't really need much CPU
at all.

I haven't remembered to check top when it actually does
this, however just taking a look at top every so often, it
seems that ayttm is consistently using more than its share
of CPU even when it's just idling.  It's ranging from 25% to
about 75% when I don't even have a chat window open.  Seems
to me there's something wrong here.

the next time this happens, could you run top and check how
much CPU ayttm is using?
