Fix was to > simply split the string into 3 parts instead of two. I'm pleased to report that IRC now works! Heh heh, one more thing though... I have found a problem with all of the versions I have tested recently. When I join a IRC channel, it comes up with an empty window. Today, with latest from CVS, had the same problem. I went online with irc.freenode.net, then chose to join #puppylinux. A window came up that was empty. No members listed, no nothing. I waited for awhile, nothing happened. I tried Xchat and #puppylinux works fine. So, I closed the window and then rejoined the channel, and it came up ok, showing members etc. It's just that first window that has a problem. This has been happening before also, but I think I recall yesterday after awhile the empty window suddenly started working. Just experimenting, I can join additional channels and the info fills the window fairly quickly. Is there anything in the code that could delay the first window filling, or even delay it indefinitely?
