status update for ESnet

v6-Exchange Folk,

I am enclosing a picture of ESnet's most current IPv6 configuration. The 
best news is that we are now supporting v4 and v6 in our core Juniper 
backbone, in production.

I've enclosed a few notes below from our engineering team.

IS-IS

All the ESnet links run IPV6 ISIS (the blue & gold lines between ESnet
routers)

We don't run ISIS between CHI and 6tap or between the 6TAP's at Chicago.

A static to the sites NLA is in the local router (ie: there is a
static for the SLAC NLA (/48) pointing to SLAC's internal V6 router.
The static is announced to the backbone with ISIS.)

All the ESnet p-tla and s-tla pieces are carried in ISIS.

Cisco and Juniper IPv6 ISIS seem to work together, but its not a very
complicated scenario.

BGP
---

i-BGP fully meshed between hub routers, PAIX and the LBL router

e-BGP to external peers.  The 6TAP at Chicago is an external peer.

Interfaces addresses are globally unique and are /64s.  Loop back
addresses are globally unique /128s from a common /64.

6TAP
----

6TAP at StarTap is all ATM.
6TAP at StarLight is ATM and (currently) FastEthernet to a 6509.
