You might not have noticed it: Emmanuel Dreyfus ([email protected]) did a
very nice and interesting thing. He implemented IKE mode config (incl.
Cisco's UNITY extensions), XAUTH and hybrid authentication for racoon.
The code also supports authentication against RADIUS (very useful for
large-scale deployment). At the moment Emmanuel is working on DHCP
integration. See http://ftp.espci.fr/shadow/manu/racoon-20040828.tgz.

That's a unique selling point for racoon, because you can use the "free"
Cisco VPN Client on your roadwarriors. IMO this is the best thing that
happened to racoon for a long time.

Are there any chances to see Emmanuel's code integrated in to the
mainstream racoon? He already did a very good job and added
configuration options, etc. The only thing you have to do is to take a
look at the code, maybe polish some parts and merge it in to the CVS
tree?

To you think there is a future for his code in racoon?
