Sorry about the downtime of services today; I assume it was down for a few hours. This was due to MySQL problems, which I will now go into for the few of you who will actually understand what I'm talking about. I noticed that the opm.evidence table handler was crashed which was causing all operations on that table to block. As a result, all the opm email processing machines were running out of disk from the oncoming spam. I did a "repair table evidence" in MySQL but that was taking ages. In the meantime I also noticed that replication was down so I did a "load data from master" from my slave that is meant to be replicating services. This blocked, no doubt due to the other repair table, and it probably blocked while the services database was read locked which caused services itself to block and ping out and seemingly fail to restart. I only realised all that might happen while I was at lunch though. By the time I got back from lunch (about 10 mins ago) the repair table had finished and services was restarted. -- http://freebsdwiki.org/ - Encrypted mail welcome - keyid 0xBF15490B "Greatness sits upon my shoulders as the dog urinates upon the pavement - with naturalness and ease and some offence to passers-by." -- The League Against Tedium _______________________________________________ public mailing list public-Hb7ITwsGSD4lroQnaJEqWdi2O/[email protected] http://lists.blitzed.org/listinfo/public
