meta-discussion about wiki & mailing lists

I was just thinking that asking people to "comment either on the
wiki page or on the list" is possibly not the best idea since then
the discussion would happen in two places, things could get missed
or duplicated.

Since the document is maintained now in the wiki I want to say "we
will discuss it on the wiki", but while I am happy to do that, there
may be people who prefer the way email works.

Maybe it should have been discussed solely on the list after all,
and only a distilled version of what was said put on the wiki for
final approval?

Tom, how do Wikipedia handle this?
