   As has been posted to the public list recently, [1]Andryan and [2]Phil
   have decided to resign from the Executive Board.

   I must thank the senate for granting me emergency powers. I will
   construct a mighty clone army of the network to defend us from the
   separatist threat--No, wait..

   Thanks Phil and Andryan for your efforts over the last few years, and
   thank you for deciding to bow out now. It would have been very
   difficult for me to take actions against admins for lack of attention
   to Blitzed when the majority of the EB were also too busy with real
   life.

   I will not in the short term be seeking to replace Andryan and Phil on
   the EB, since I do not believe at the moment there are any members of
   staff who really have the time or interest to do that.

   This means that the Executive Board is in fact just me now -- a
   situation that has in practice been the case for a while -- but I do
   not regard that as acceptable in the long term and I hope that
   eventually we will be at the stage where the places can be filled with
   suitable people. At the same time I will be instituting regular
   (yearly?) elections for EB members, although that will not necessarily
   be an EB that works the same as it does now. We'll see.

   As some of you may be aware this has all come to a head because of
   recent failures of almost the entire admin team to attend to their
   duties. As a direct result, [3]zucchini.fl.us.blitzed.org has been
   delinked and various other administrative measures have had to be
   taken.

   It is a shame that these events have taken place but the best thing to
   do is for all staff to decide if they are really interested in being
   staff of the network and are able to perform the minimum duties
   expected of them. There is no shame in admitting you have no time for
   IRC anymore!

   We now return you to your irregularly scheduled flame war.
