But on the other hand Andy is right when he says that it's impossible to run a network if simple but necessary changes to the ircd are not applied in time. The main problem in this case was that many admins either didn't have enough time to spare or lacked interest to fix their servers. But please consider that it doesn't need much time to apply changes, apart from negotiating server to server links, which I agree were part of it. But then you bump out some emails and apply it. Overall all this could have been avoided. Andy is upset because many do not seem to care for Blitzed anymore as much as they did before. But nobody admits that (s)he hasn't got enough time currently. As he said it's nothing wrong with having no time for IRC, but you have to announce the absence properly and get someone else to care for the server. This was not about Blitzed as a community but about Blitzed as in running an IRC network together. It wasn't running as smooth as it did some time ago, and I really hope, well I am certain, that this will arouse us. Still it has done much damage already and I hope that we could avoid having more. I like Blitzed for the way it is governed too, just like you and I would be really sad if this ends up in the users loosing the trust into Blitzed and moving away. And I would also be sad if the community which has been built up would split up now. Kind regards, Philipp Kern
