As far as I'm concerned the matter is dealt with as everyone seems
to have now made their points of view clear.

There is no issue here as Mark Rutherford and I will be
co-ordinating that and it does not require much action from admins.
At some point in the future assuming we get it working (and with
services) to the point that our current ircd does then all it will
require is some briefing to the admins with the differences between
the old version and the new.

Actually coming to a decision on a plan of action for getting a
modern ircd is one of the more positive things to have happened
recently.

I think you are mistaking the current flurry of emails as some
ongoing problem but at least from my point of view it's just the
fallout from the hopeful solution to the problem.
