If you have a spare moment could you log in to one of our testnet
servers, e.g. strugglers.net port 7500 and try and break[1] or
otherwise defeat[2] the hostmangling that Mark R has put in?:

10:34 -!- grifferz [~andy-zUHCcq+i6BtDM3tNdDN3uDDEoF5KDggSZ+GEbx8BII3YtjvyW6yDsg@public.gmane.org]
10:34 -!- ircname : Andy Smith
10:34 -!- channels : @#blitzed @#irpg @#linux @#help #debug
10:34 -!- server : curacao.test.blitzed.org [Debian GNU/Linux Sarge, London, UK]
10:34 -!- : has registered this nick
10:34 -!- : IRC Operator - Server Administrator
10:34 -!- idle : 0 days 0 hours 8 mins 10 secs [signon: Mon Aug 22 10:24:24 2005]
10:34 -!- End of WHOIS

You will get an extra line in a /whois on yourself that shows your
real host.

You can set umode -q to disable it and show your real host again.

Not all servers are updated yet so don't try to test anything across
different servers on the testnet.

Thanks,
Andy

[1] In this context "break" means crash the server or cause
    something unexpected to happen.

[2] In this context "defeat" means to work out the real host or IP
address using only client/server commands, i.e. not DCC or CTCP.
