stopping bopm

Hi and Merry Christmas
Need a little help,running bopm on linux red hat.Im trying to fine out how to shut bopm down,not sure what the kill command is.I was told to kill bopm type kill 'cat bopm.pid' but it does not work.If someone could please help me with this problem.Also i would like to know how to rehash bopm.
