If you're running local DNS cache, but most of the clients connecting are new lookups, how would this speed up anything? I assume because the ircd does a both ways DNS query when the client connects, which will cache the results in time for when bopm later asks the same query. It still seems inferior to just using a sensible ircd, I mean really, what is left that can't put IP addresses in their connect notices?
