Laziness.

Not even Blitzed does it so you would be unable to connect to most
servers on Blitzed right now.

I am guessing most users of BOPM are incapable of working out what
should be in there.  Maybe you are right that it would be better to
have lots of people complaining that it doesn't work instead,
though.

Someone implementing a listener within bopm itself as could have
been done from the start seems to be the better idea at this point
though.  Not through any fault of BOPM or its technical design I
might add, just through laziness of the average human being.
