I would also advise against adding this feature since it would mean that BOPM's IRC client abilities would need to have much more work put into them, to ensure it doesn't flood itself off etc. It is far easier to add an additional on-connect notice to your ircd to warn users about your proxy checking policy. Admittedly this does not provide a way to send a notice when the tests are done with, but what percentage of users read on-connect notices and would understand what this is about? 5%?
