I have root to the box but it is from a place that I pay so much a month
to use the box. There was no name servers supplied when I took out the
box either. Anymore help would be greatly appreciated.

By the way its 127.0.0.1 tahts what is setup in the resolv.conf file

Thanx

Is it 172.0.0.1? Or 127.0.0.1?
If it's 127.0.0.1 then you must be running local dns server in your box.

If you have root access to the box you can try to fix the resolv.conf
(your
ISP should have given you 2 or 3 nameservers), or if you do not have
root
access you can use "firedns.conf" (and you can use that even if you have
root access but are not able to fix the resolv.conf).

So you just put the IP addresses of the nameservers you get from your
ISP to
that file.
