Problems compiling BOPM 3.1.2

Hi folks,

   Trying to compile BOPM on a red hat based system (Celly 2.4, 512MB 
RAM). Configure completes successfully, however Make gives an error. 
Details are below - thanks in advance for any tips or advice you can 
offer. For reference the same code compiles fine on my desktop machine, 
running Gentoo with GCC 3.5.
