Hi,

irssi is a chat client, not an IRCNet client. There are chat networks
featuring other modes with arguments.

Having two expandos isn't a good idea, because a) a very basic data
structure (CHANNEL_REC) would need to be modified, b) tons of places in
different chat network modules need to be modified.
