irssi proxy/bouncer

I've been playing with the proxy feature lately since my GPU wails like
a banshee and I happen to think sleep is a good idea.
Now I know we are in
ignore-the-fuck-out-of-it-unless-root-exploit-is-found mode but can we
get a couple things merged/talked about?
