I think these could be plugged into my design as well, but I don't think it's necessarily such a good idea. Maybe if you really want to, you could show RSS, MUD etc. just as regular messages, but I'd think it would be better to have more specialized clients for using them. Of course, nothing would prevent a client specialized in one task (IRC, MUD) to still handle other kind of events but just in less featureful ways. BTW.
