Login prompt?

I'm trying to use irssi more as a telnet client then for mudding as I
like the separate command line. But how do I hande sites with a
login/password prompt?

If I try to reach for example fibd.com 4321 (a backgammon site) it
requires a logon. But irssi just take the login and password prompts and
shows some scrabbled text and then stops...
