Hello Juman,

What you are seeing is a the telnet negotiation. Irssi can't handle
this. You still have to do this via command line, and this is likely not
to change. But what I can recommend, is a more or less little tool named
'screen'. This is more like what you are looking for as it's a true
terminal emulator, which handles multiple sessions at once.
