irssi's plugin interface

Hello people,

I was going to learn writing plugins for irssi, so I downloaded one of
the official plugins as reference.  The comments in the main source file
say:

> Based on the sample plugin and some other original irssi code, which is

Does anyone know where to find this sample plugin?  Or is there any
documentation about irssi's plugin interface?
