It might be effective, but it's in no way similar to C.  C is beautiful,
user-friendly and has a clean structure.  Perl doesn't have any of those
properties. =)

Also I didn't want to initiate a discussion about languages.  Fact is,
I'd like to write plugins for irssi and there is no official
documentation about that.  I couldn't find that sample plugin either.
So where should I start?
