   I use the my_beep.pl script, available from 
http://www.xs4all.nl/~stacium/irssi/my_beep.html

   There's also a script which does the same thing on the Irssi scripts page, 
but for whatever reason, it has a rather large mem leak on my system. Hope 
this is what you're looking for.
