Irssi Libpurple/Aim Interface

I'm interested in writing a libpurple or AIM plugin for irssi.  Would
you guys be interested in merging it?  I'd much prefer it merged just
because i don't want to have a project.  My only concern is that
libpurple supports IRC/SILC so there would be a bit of duplication.  I
was thinking it could be integrated like IRC component is.  a separate
module which could be built in or not.  Any comments?
