Ignore based on subnet mask

Hi. Is there a reason why IRC clients haven't implemented ignores based on IP addresses and subnet masks (real subnet masks, not asterisks)? I'd rather not have to /ignore 11.*.*.* when they guy harassing me is just in 11.8.0.0/14. Thoughts? Regards, Marshall
